Notes  (edited by dabase)

1. Maha (great), mudra (gesture, or posture, or presentation, or symbol); the great teaching that leads to the "Primordial Mind"; the practical instructions on Meditation on Sunyata (Voidness).
These teachings that Tilopa gave Naropa on the bank of the Ganges River.

2. Samaya, here implies the Precepts a Tantric yogi must observe during his practice; 14 Commandments, 80 subsidiary Rules.

3. Samsara: wheel of life and death, and illusion, dillusion, maya, unenlightenment.

4. Alaya Consciousness: The "Store" that preserves the "seeds" of mental impressions and supports the formation of habit, making possible memory and learning.. Regarded by some schools of Mahayana as the "foundation", or "root", or "primordial", or "universal" Consciousness.

5. Dharmata: the essence or nature of the Dharma; the nature underlying all things, reality, etc.

6. The Mother-- and Son-Light; of which the Mother-Light is the senior or complete, or perfect, or changeless, Principle; the innate Light. Without the Mother-Light, the Son-Light is not possible, nor Realization itself.
